featured Monument to the Great Hurricane of 1900 - Galveston TX
Posted in memory of those killed this week in the Samoan tsunami and Indonesian earthquakes.
An abstract shot of one of the most beautiful and most poignant sculptures I have ever seen. September 8, 1900 - Six thousand people lost their lives in this storm in Galveston TX. Back then, hurricanes were not named as they are today. To this day, it is still the worst natural disaster ever to happen on U.S. soil.
