kyanite also is used as indicators of metamorphism (facies describes the differing chemical make up of the Kyanite series as it grades through temperature and pressure, into also garnet, as well as other types with differing pressure and temperature). I planted cacti this weekend :) those are Euphorbia (a large class of succulents)

blue and striated appearance, kyanite (only cos I remember looking down a geology microscope) ♥
