This week Karl Lagerfeld showed his Chanel Resort/Cruise collection for 2012/13. The runway show was hosted in a garden grove at the lush Palace of Versailles, Marie Antoinette's historical stomping grounds--the setting couldn't be more perfect. The collection was true modern Marie Antoinette, with a pinch of punk rock for good measure.
Models were chic and spunky in pastel colored, sleek bob cuts, watercolor washes of pink eyeshadow, and pastel-colored creepers. The outfits were over-the-top (in true Karl-Chanel fashion) in luxury and frivolty, with Lolita-esque pannier-skirted gowns, touches of Rococo gold embroidery, and candy colored couture. If fashion were dessert, the collection would have been a pastel-colored assortment of Laduree macarons straight from Paris!
What do you think of the collection? What's your favorite look?
